Introducing Our Health Counselor: Patrick Gauthier

The Gajer Practice Blogs

July 22, 2023

Hi, I’m Patrick!

I have lived in Burke, Va my entire life. I was raised right down the road from The Gajer Practice in the South Run neighborhood. I am one of eight children with 4 sisters and 3 brothers. I started my journey in healthcare at the age of 18 when I got my EMT certification and started working at Inova Fair Oaks hospital where I had been working for the last 6 years before starting work as a health counselor here at The Gajer practice.

I recently graduated from George Mason University with a Degree in Community Health with a focus on public health. I am taking my CHES exam this October to become a certified health education specialist. I knew I wanted to work with people in an environment that focused on health, wellness, and prevention.

I started working here in April of 2023 and hope to be here far into the future. My favorite part of working here is the fact that I love waking up and coming to work. I look forward to seeing all our patients and want to do everything in my power to help them reach their health goals. Whether that is weight loss, maintaining their health or finding new ways, we can help them feel happy and confident in their health. We have such a great team here that all support each other. The patients are amazing and always a pleasure to work with. I hope to meet as many of you as I can.

Is Alzheimer’s Disease Type 3 Diabetes? What You Can Do to Protect Your Brain Health

There’s an emerging field of research that’s shedding new light on Alzheimer’s disease—and it may have a lot to do with insulin resistance.
