Hello Ladies,

Today’s hormone assessment quiz is for ladies only.  This quiz is again adapted from the Hormone Cure by Dr. Sara Gottfried.

Answer the questions below to see if your hormones may be off balance:

Do you have or have you experienced in the past 6 months:

  1. Agitation or PMS?
  2. Cyclical headaches (particularly menstrual or hormonal migraines)?
  3. Painful and/or swollen breasts?
  4. Irregular menstrual cycles or cycles becoming more frequent as you age?
  5. Heavy or painful periods?
  6. Bloating, particularly in the ankles and belly, and/or fluid retention?
  7. Ovarian cysts, breast cysts or endometrial cysts/polyps?
  8. Easily disrupted sleep?
  9. Itchy or restless legs, especially at night?
  10. Increased clumsiness or poor coordination?
  11. Infertility or subfertility?
  12. Miscarriage in the first trimester?

If you answered yes to at least 5 or more, you most likely have a progesterone deficiency. If you answered yes to 3-5, you may need to address a hormonal imbalance.

If you think you have low progesterone, there are some natural ways to boost your levels:

  1. Eat more healthy fats
  2. Be intentional about relieving the effects of stress on your body
  3. Supplement with vitamins C, B6, magnesium and zinc
  4. Limit caffeine and refined sugars
