A Change Will Do You Good

As a physician, I spend a significant amount of time contemplating the concept of change. I often ponder the intricacies of how change unfolds, especially when it involves the challenging transformations we all face in life. My primary focus remains on how I can assist you – my incredible patients – in making the changes that will enhance your lives.

I recognize, as a fellow human being, that instigating lasting changes that truly benefit our lives can be an arduous journey. I’ve also come to appreciate, through personal experience, that these demanding changes often yield the most profound rewards.

For most of us, achieving change requires a delicate balance of both support and confrontation. This balance can originate from external sources as well as from within ourselves.

Confrontation, in this context, entails a candid examination of our realities. It’s in our nature to shield ourselves, to justify habits that we know are detrimental to our well-being, and to bury emotions deep within, operating on autopilot. To foster change, we must confront these ingrained patterns and habits that hinder our ability to live life in alignment with our aspirations. So, ask yourself today: What am I reluctant to acknowledge? What is impeding my progress? Things often appear more daunting and intimidating when shrouded in darkness.

Equally crucial is the element of support, sometimes referred to as “resourcing.” While we might try to muster our willpower to enact change, we may still fall short. Often, this is because we lack the appropriate support system to facilitate these changes. Support manifests in various forms. It begins with being kinder to yourself, offering grace when you falter, and treating yourself with the same compassion you would extend to a friend. Moreover, it entails surrounding yourself with a community that champions your journey and believes in your potential. Be discerning about the people you allow into your life, ensuring that they genuinely care about your growth and well-being.

Here at the Gajer Practice, we are perpetually seeking the most effective ways to assist you in navigating the changes necessary for leading happier and healthier lives. We understand that sometimes you are the best judge of what you need on a particular day, and we encourage you to communicate those needs with us. Whether you require additional support or a dose of tough love, we are here to accommodate your evolving needs.

My aspiration for you is to strike a balance between confronting less healthy habits and receiving the support required for transformation. Rest assured, we stand beside you every step of the way, steadfast in our commitment to your well-being.

Is Alzheimer’s Disease Type 3 Diabetes? What You Can Do to Protect Your Brain Health

There’s an emerging field of research that’s shedding new light on Alzheimer’s disease—and it may have a lot to do with insulin resistance.
